What changes when hope becomes something you can pass on?

Hope opened the door
Jesse remembers being reluctant to accept help. A conversation with John gave him a reason to believe that life could be different. That hope made a first step possible. In this episode, Jesse and his wife, Lori, join John and Christa Klyder to describe how change began and how it continues to show up in their lives.
Lori heard about KBlend on WMUZ and made the first call. Jesse says he initially did not think he needed help. Later, Lori noticed changes before he could see them himself. That difference in perspective is part of what makes hearing them together so revealing: one person can recognize a beginning while the other still struggles to believe it.

A home, a fire, and what remained
These photographs come from the collection Jesse shared for his TruthBook story. The familiar tall windows connect the scenes: a cared-for home, flames and smoke, and the damaged structure afterward.
The loss included guitars with deep personal meaning. In the show, Jesse remembers his father’s Martin alongside other instruments he treasured. The photographs give the loss a visible shape; his words reveal why his thoughts keep returning to God and Lori.
The fire exposed what was precious
When fire destroyed the home he had built and the possessions he had collected, Jesse faced a profound loss. Standing in the ashes, he recognized the value of his relationship with God and his life with Lori. The fire revealed how much his priorities were already changing.
Change is showing up in relationships
Jesse talks about the satisfaction he finds in prison ministry and sharing his faith with people he meets there. He also describes staying with his sister, helping with her home, going to church, and praying together. These relationships are becoming a place to give and receive support as they move forward.
The conversation follows hope outward: from being willing to accept help to finding purpose in helping others. The precious things Jesse describes are already taking shape in his daily life.
